All Centre are very excited to introduce New York-based producer Jules Becker, who releases his debut EP, Turning. Across four twisted club excursions, Becker explores our relationship to differing environments, building a number of sonic spaces for the listener to explore and interpret.
Metal constructs this first environment through a hypnotic loop, built by a maxed-out delay setting. Soon precisely chopped breaks and descending sub bass hits burst through to bring the track squarely to the dancefloor. A sprawling bassline enters the fray, looping throughout to mesmerise the listener.
Face Value guides us into the next zone with soothing chords, soon accompanied by glitchy vocals and deep kicks. The track builds to a stuttering slice of machine funk, alternating between driving drums, haunting vocals and ethereal pads.
As we move into the second half of the EP, Dasht ramps up the tempo. Broken kicks, warped percussion and grime-esque bass compel the dancefloor as a scrambled vocal echoes into infinity. The track eases to a mesmeric melodic breakdown, before launching into a pummeling final stretch.
A high-feedback, haunting melody opens Three Turn. A familiar break propels a disorientating sonic expanse, anchored to earth by huge sub-heavy kicks. The breaks and melody are manipulated and mangled in a dazing breakdown before returning to their original form and rolling out to close the EP.
Turning is available across all digital platforms from the 13th October.
